Due to its increasing demand, Arcadier is now offering a Subscriptions Plugin, which allows admins to create a subscription plan for merchants as a way of membership and to generate recurring revenue for the marketplace.
The Subscriptions Plugin is administered in Membership and Subscription under the Plugins tab in your admin portal.
1. Start linking your Stripe account by adding the mandatory keys in the fields, as shown below.
2. Add subscription details (e.g. package name, price per month, and description).
Once the plugin has been set up, a Subscriptions tab will appear on the merchants' User Settings page along with Payment Acceptance, where they need to enter their payment information and coupon code (if available).

Q: How do I turn off my commission rate upon using the membership and subscription plugin?
A: Kindly send a request to the CS team to change your commission rate to 0%.
Q: As the admin, where can I view my merchant's billing cycle?
A: You can view the merchant's billing cycle on the Users page of the admin portal.
Q: What happens if the admin changed the subscription fee?
The previous subscription fee will still apply to existing merchants. For the updated subscription fee to apply, merchants will have to re-onboard the marketplace. Alternatively, you can cancel a merchant's previous subscription plan and re-subscribe them to the new plan from their merchant portal.
Q: How does the plugin affect pre-existing merchants?
A: Subscription is mandatory for all merchants. As such, pre-existing merchants will need to re-onboard and subscribe to the marketplace upon installing the plugin.
Q: What happens when my user decided to cancel their subscription?
A: Merchant will be able to operate the marketplace until the end of the billing period. The system will redirect users to the subscription page if they do not renew their subscription.
Q: How do I know if my users have successfully subscribed to the marketplace?
A: An EDM will be sent out to the user upon payment of the subscription. You can review your merchants under the "Users" tab.
Q: Can I charge merchants and buyers a membership fee?
Currently, this plug-in is only available to charge merchants. If you would like to extend this feature to buyers, please let us know and upvote this feature request here.
Q: Can I create multiple subscription rates or set my recurring bill to other timings (e.g. weekly, fortnightly, quarterly, semi-annually or annually)?
A: Currently, this plug-in only allows you to create one subscription rate which will act as the default monthly subscription fee for all subscribers. If you would like this feature to be enhanced to include other subscription rates or billing frequencies, please let us know and upvote this feature request here.
Q: What happens if a member has not paid their monthly fee?
A: Merchants who have not paid their monthly fee will lose access to their merchant portal and will be redirected to the subscription page. They will also receive reminder emails from Stripe to pay their subscriptions.
Q: What payment methods are available for users to pay by?
A: When onboarding, merchants will be prompted to provide their credit or debit card credentials to subscribe to the marketplace. Stripe accepts a wide variety of payment methods. For more details, click here.
Q: I don’t have a Stripe account. Can I use another payment method to set up this plug-in?
A: Currently, the only payment method available for this plug-in is Stripe.
Q: How do I find my LIVE PUBLISHABLE KEY and LIVE SECRET KEY?
A: You can find your LIVE PUBLISHABLE KEY and LIVE SECRET KEY under the Developers section of the Stripe dashboard. Click on API Keys to view them. For more details, click here.
