What is the Marketplace Analytics & Reports Generator plug-in?
The Marketplace Analytics & Report Generator plug-in is a useful tool for Marketplace Admins to analyze the performance of their marketplaces in the form of reports or data visualizations. Click here for instructions on how to install a plug-in.
Why do I need this plug-in?
With this plug-in, Admins can easily identify the marketplace's best selling items, best-performing merchants, most used payment gateways, most active buyers as well as relevant performance indicators across specified periods of time, such as:
- Orders
- Items Sold
- Items Refunded
- New Merchant vs New Buyer Ratio
- Average Revenue per Merchant
- Average Commission Fee per Merchant
- Registered to non-Registered Users
- Total Logins
- Average Purchases per Buyer
- Average Order Value
How can I start using this plug-in?
To use the report generator, click on the drop-down menu of the Report Options. You will see 2 different options:
- Performance Reports
- Periodic Reports
Performance Reports
Performance reports allow you to view 4 different types of reports:
- Merchants
- Buyers
- Payment Gateways
- Items
Merchants
You will be able to view the following under the Merchant's table.
Header | Description |
Rank | Indicates the rank of the merchant based on the total revenue earned by the particular merchant |
Name | Name of the merchant |
Email of the merchant | |
Total Revenue | Amount earned from successful orders |
Number of Orders | Total number of transactions the merchant has been involved in |
Total Admin Commission | Total commission earned by the admin from the transactions of the merchant |
Buyers
You will be able to view the following under the Buyer's table
Header | Description |
Rank | Indicates the rank of the buyer based on the total amount of money spent |
Name | Name of the buyer |
Email of the buyer | |
Total Money Spent | Total money spent by the buyer in the specific time frame |
Number of Orders* | Total number of orders involving the buyer |
Total Admin Commission | Total commission earned by the admin in transactions involving the buyer |
*(In calculating the number of successful orders, multi-item checkouts are counted as 1)
Payment Gateways
You will be able to view the following under the Payment Gateway's table
Header | Description |
Rank | Indicates the rank of the payment gateway based on the total amount of money transferred |
Name | Name of the payment gateway |
Money Transferred | The total amount of money transferred through the payment gateway |
Total Admin Commission | Admin commission earned by the admin in the transactions which occur through the payment gateway |
Items
You will be able to view the following under the item's table
Header | Description |
Rank | Indicates the rank of the item based on the total number of transactions involved |
Name | Name of the item being ranked |
Number of transactions | Total number of unique transactions the item is involved in |
Total Money Spent | Total amount of money spent by the buyers on purchasing this particular item |
Total Quantity Bought | Total quantity of this item bought by all the buyers |
Seller | The merchant(seller) selling this particular item |
Periodic Reports
Data can be visualized as graphs and also exported as a CSV. You can select and view up to 5 different periods under "Show By" for viewing. Start by clicking on any of the options.
After you have selected an option, choose the date range that you are interested to view and a table will be displayed based on the dates you have chosen.
Header | Description |
Time Interval | The duration in which the values of the metrics are calculated |
Total Users | Total number of users who joined from the start date until the selected date |
Total Merchants | Total number of merchants who joined from the start date until the selected date |
Gross Merchandise | Total amount made from the start date until the selected date |
Total Admin Commission | Total commission earned by the admin in transactions involving the buyer |

You can download the filtered data in CSV (comma-separated values) by clicking on the button shown below.
Search Bar
You can search for a merchant's name by entering their name into the field.
Filter
You can filter the results by changing the values in the filter below.

You can download the data in CSV (comma-separated values) by clicking on the button shown below.
You can add additional metrics to the table via the Add Options button. Each additional metric that you have select will create a new column in the table. The table can be side-scrolled depending on the spacing of the information required.

1 | Orders | The total number of purchases made between a buyer and a merchant from the start date until the selected date. |
2 | Items sold | The total number of items sold from the start date until the selected date. |
3 | Items Refunded | The total number of items refunded from the start date until the selected date. |
4 | New Merchant New Buyer Ratio | The ratio of the merchants to buyers who joined from the start date until the selected date. |
5 | Average Revenue Per Merchant | The average revenue made by a merchant calculated from the start date until the selected date. |
6 | Average Commission Fee Per Merchant | The average admin commission gained from a merchant calculated from the start date until the selected date. |
7 | Registered to Non Registered | The ratio of purchases made by guest users to registered users from the start date until the selected date. |

The average number of purchases made per buyer calculated from the start date until the selected date. |
9 | Average order value | The average money spent on a single order calculated from the start date until the selected date. |

Visualization of data
You can visualize the data by clicking on the "Charts" button and the interface will switch from table to graph. You can go back to the table from the graph by clicking on the "Charts" button again.
Additional Filter
You can click on the respective buttons to filter the respective graphs.
Upon clicking Total Merchants, a strikethrough will be shown and the graph will not display its data, leaving only Total Users as seen below.
General Note: Using Plug-Ins with Custom Code Editor:
If you have utilized the Custom Code Editor and have inserted custom codes into your marketplace, there is a chance that the selected installed plug-in may conflict with the inserted codes resulting in errors on your marketplace, especially if your custom code relates to the same feature areas of the plug-in. In such an instance, simply uninstall the plug-in and the error will go away. Please note that Arcadier is not responsible for any errors which may occur as a result or support any custom code fixes to accommodate any plug-in. You will have to contact your developers directly for support.
