What is the "Add Blog Post" plug-in?
The Add Blog Post plug-in works with the Blog Page Builder plugin to allow admins to publish blog posts on their marketplace. Posts created using the plug-in will appear on the marketplace blog's landing page, as seen in the example below.
Please note that this plug-in should only be installed after you have installed the Blog Page Builder plug-in, otherwise there is no blog page for the publication of the blog post. Click here to find out about the add blog page builder plug-in.
How do I use this plug-in?
After installing the plug-in, go to Plug-Ins on the side menu bar on your Admin Dashboard and find the Add Blog Post plug-in. Click on that plug-in. Once the page has loaded, start by clicking on the “Create New Post” button on the top right corner of the page.
You will be brought to a new page where you can start writing your blog post.
What are the features available in the plug-in?
Including a cover image for your post
The plug-in only supports the uploading of cover images with direct URL addresses, the plug-in is unable to directly host images onto the Arcadier server. Hence, if you wish to use a cover image of your own, you must first upload it onto a third-party platform (e.g. Imgur), then paste the direct link to your image into the Cover Image field.
To obtain the URL of your image:
- Right-click on the image on the internet
- Click Copy Image Address to obtain its direct link
An example of how an image URL will look like is below:
The plug-in supports multiple image formats such as JPEG, PNG, and GIF. Please ensure that the image used is your own copyright image or a license-free stock image to avoid any legal complications.

For images within the main body of the blog, you can add the image directly into the body of the content through the Text Editor, there is no need for a direct URL for the image. See Text Editor below.
Publishing or hiding a post
You can choose to hide or publish the post by selecting the respective options under Available.
For example, if you choose to publish 3 blog posts on your blog, all 3 would appear on your blog's landing page as seen below.
However, if you choose to hide a post—in this example, “Plants to Boost your Mood”—the post will be hidden from the blog landing page.
The status of each post is visible on the admin page which you can change the status of the blog post at any time.
Meta Title and Meta Description
Meta Titles and Meta Descriptions are important for SEO (Search Engine Optimization). Admins can also edit the meta title and meta description of the page by clicking the Edit button at the bottom of the page.
A maximum of 65 characters is accepted for the meta title and 170 characters for the meta description. Don’t forget to save your changes after you are done.
Can I see a preview of my blog post?
Yes, you can do so with the Preview function. Once you're satisfied with how the blog post looks, click Save and you’re done.
Each blog post will look similar to the example below, featuring the blog title and date of when the blog was posted at the top of the blog, and a Back button at the bottom of the page to return to the blog landing page.
How will my marketplace look like with a blog page builder plug-in & add blog post plug-in installed?
After publishing your blog posts, the plug-in will work with the blog page builder plug-in to display the posts on your blog's landing page.
Upon clicking Read More under each blog post, you will be redirected to a page with the full post.
Why doesn't this plug-in work?
Chances are that you have not installed a dependency plug-in: this plug-in should only be installed after you have installed the Blog Page Builder plug-in, otherwise, there is no blog page for the publication of the blog post. Click here to find out how to install the add blog page builder plug-in.
General Note: Using Plug-Ins with Custom Code Editor:
If you have utilized the Custom Code Editor and have inserted custom codes into your marketplace, there is a chance that the selected installed plug-in may conflict with the inserted codes resulting in errors on your marketplace, especially if your custom code relates to the same feature areas of the plug-in. In such an instance, simply uninstall the plug-in and the error will go away. Please note that Arcadier is not responsible for any errors which may occur as a result or support any custom code fixes to accommodate any plug-in. You will have to contact your developers directly for support.
