Categories and sub‑categories help organize your marketplace. However, you cannot delete a category or sub‑category if there are still items or listings assigned to it.
Why This Happens
To prevent broken links and missing listings, the system blocks deletion of any category that still contains active items. This ensures buyers can continue navigating without encountering errors.
How to Delete a Category or Sub‑Category
Before you can delete a category or sub‑category, you must ensure it has no items listed under it.
Step 1: Ask Sellers to Remove Their Items
Contact the sellers who have items under that category and ask them to:
- Delete the items, or
- Move them to a different category
Step 2: Confirm the Category Is Empty
Once all items are removed, check the category or sub-category to ensure it no longer contains any listings.
Step 3: Delete the Category
After the category is empty, you can safely proceed to delete it from your admin portal.
