After successfully registering as a seller on the marketplace, the seller will be redirected to their portal where they can start uploading new listings onto the marketplace.
This guide is for a retail and goods template. If you would like to see what it would look like for services/rentals template, check out this article.
On a RETAIL GOODS marketplace, Once the onboarding process is complete, the seller will be redirected to their seller’s portal. Start uploading an item by clicking Add item from the header or click Your items and click Upload on the right-hand side.
Sellers are required to tag their product to a category in the list of categories set-up by the marketplace administrator. A product can be tagged to more than 1 category. This enables the product to be shown in the categories that are selected when searched by potential buyers.
As a seller on a RETAIL GOODS marketplace, there are certain items that would benefit from having a Stock Keeping Unit, or 'SKU' field on each listing that is uploaded. This field also applies to item variants.
An SKU unit can also be applied to the various types of a similar listing. For example, a user might want to tag a certain number to small-sized variants of this particular item and a different one to medium-sized variants of the same item. See the screenshot below!
On a RETAIL GOODS marketplace, sellers can set up their variant groups whenever they upload an item onto your marketplace. Firstly, click on the “Add Variants” button in the “Quantity” section.
Add the desired group name and the different options. To add more options, simply type “Enter”.
For every variant option added to the variant groups, a table will be generated with all the possible variant combinations. (E.g. Items which are red colour and small in size will be a single combination.)
For every combination generated, your sellers will be able to upload the item image, control the number of stock available and input the surcharge for that item.
Custom fields allow sellers in the marketplace to show certain important information about the items they are selling. For example, as a food & beverage marketplace admin, admin can make sure that all sellers provide information on the number of calories in every item that they sell on the marketplace. Furthermore, the marketplace admin can decide whether the custom field should be made mandatory or not. Refer to Custom Fields & Search Filters section of the help centre for more details about custom fields.
After filling in all the necessary details, click the Save button to upload the item listing onto the marketplace.
(Optional: Only if the default marketplace language differs from the item listing language.)
Once you have completed your listing upload, you can choose to translate the listing page or do it later.
