After successfully registering as a seller on the marketplace, the seller will be redirected to their portal where they can start uploading new listings onto the marketplace.
This guide is for retail and goods template. If you would like to see what it would look like for services/rentals template, check out this article.
Upload Process
On a Retail Goods marketplace, after the onboarding process is completed, the seller will be redirected to their seller’s portal. Sellers can then click Your items and click Add Item on the right-hand side.
Alternatively, sellers can hover their mouse over the Seller button to access the seller features and upload items by clicking Add item.
Categories and Sub-categories
Sellers are required to tag their product to a category in the list of categories and sub-categories set-up by the marketplace administrator. A product can be tagged to more than 1 category. Tagging a product to a sub-category will automatically place the product in the main category. This enables potential buyers to see these products when searching for the categories/sub-categories.
Stock Keeping Unit (SKU)
As a seller on a RETAIL GOODS marketplace, there are certain items that would benefit from having a Stock Keeping Unit, or 'SKU' field on each listing that is uploaded.
An SKU unit can also be applied to the various types of a similar listing. For example, a user might want to tag a certain number to small-sized variants of this particular item and a different one to medium-sized variants of the same item.
Product Image
For the Retail and Goods Template, sellers can upload up to 5 product photos. Sellers can upload photos by clicking "browse" and then drag-and-drop their photos onto the "Upload Photo" pop-up.
For more information about the image requirement, click here.
Item Variants
On a RETAIL GOODS marketplace, sellers can set up multiple variations of the same product (e.g. colour, size, fit) during the uploading process.
To include variations, sellers have to toggle the Variants option to "Yes" (red box in screenshot). Do note that sellers can only have 3 different variant options (e.g. size, colour) but can include an unlimited number of variant choices per option (e.g. S, M, L, XL, XXL). Sellers can also re-order the different variants according to the seller's priority by dragging the moveable button (blue box in the screenshot).
For every variant option added to the variant groups, a table will be generated with all the possible variant combinations (E.g. watches with black strap and 38mm diameter will be a single combination.) For each variant, sellers can upload an image, customise the SKU, input the surcharge and indicate the total stock available. If the seller does not want to cap the total available stock, they can click on the box under "Unlimited" column (green box in screenshot).
Custom Fields
Custom fields allow sellers in the marketplace to show additional and essential information about the items that they are selling. For example, as a food & beverage marketplace admin, the admin can make sure that all sellers provide information on the number of calories in every item that they sell on the marketplace. Furthermore, the marketplace admin can decide whether the custom field should be made mandatory or not. For marketplace administrators to enable custom fields, click here for more information.
Custom fields allow/requires sellers to include various product details that help to customise their product listing. The customisations can include product video, infographics, customised text description, website link and many others. Do note that
After filling in all the necessary details, click the Save button to upload the item listing onto the marketplace.
