Your marketplace supports international buyers and sellers, as long as their currency is supported by Stripe and any enabled generic payment processor(s).
For Buyers
Buyers can pay using a supported currency, even if it differs from the marketplace’s default currency.
If a buyer chooses to pay in a currency other than the marketplace’s default currency, their bank may charge:
- Currency conversion fees
- Foreign transaction fees
These fees are borne by the buyer.
Example:
If the marketplace’s default currency is SGD, and a buyer pays using HKD, Stripe will handle the currency conversion. Any conversion or foreign transaction fees charged by the buyer’s bank will be the buyer’s responsibility.
For Sellers
Sellers can be supported as long as Stripe and/or the generic payment processor(s) used by the marketplace are able to receive payouts in the seller’s chosen currency.
If a seller chooses to receive payouts in a currency different from the marketplace’s default currency, their bank may charge:
- Currency conversion fees
- Foreign transaction fees
These fees are borne by the seller (merchant).
