Standard Shipping Configuration (Merchant-level)
Shipping configuration determines pricing behavior, but does not alter entity relationships between Cart, Invoice, and Orders.
Arcadier’s Delivery 2.0 enables marketplaces to define tiered shipping rates rather than fixed per-item pricing. Shipping option configuration includes:
- Calculation type: price-based or weight-based.
- Range thresholds (e.g. $0-$50 = $10 shipping, $50-$100 = $5 shipping, above $100 = free).
- Corresponding shipping cost per threshold.
- Optional origin/destination constraints.
- Lead time requirements.
These configurations are stored as structured rate definitions retrievable via API. Multiple shipping options can be created by merchants.
Marketplace-wide Shipping Configuration (Admin-level)
Marketplace Administrators can define shipping options at the marketplace level, which merchants may adopt when configuring delivery options for their item listings.
These configurations establish standardized delivery rate structures, such as price-based or weight-based tiers, that apply across the marketplace. Merchants can then associate their items with the applicable marketplace-defined delivery methods rather than defining rates independently.
