Shipping is configured at the item level by the Merchant. The shipping surcharge is defined per item. When a Merchant sets a shipping price in the item configuration, that amount becomes the additional cost the buyer pays at checkout.
During checkout:
- Shipping is calculated independently per Merchant.
- Shipping totals are aggregated at the Invoice level.
- Each Order inherits its respective merchant shipping allocation.
| Note: In the default Spacetime (service) solution, bulk shipping configuration is not exposed in the front-end. However, API-driven Cart implementations can leverage bulk shipping programmatically. For service-based use cases where physical delivery is not applicable, shipping configuration may be omitted. |
