Usability of the Variants Feature - (Retail)
(I was advised to post all of this here. For all browsing, they supposedly use the number of upvotes to prioritize changes... so please upvote any requests that you support)
The variants feature is the prime reason I chose Arcadier, but it is incredibly frustrating to use. There are many glitches that occur and the whole thing needs a thorough overhaul. In that process, I would like to propose the following upgrades:
- A way to sort the variants. Any new variant can only go at the end of the list or you get to start over.
- Using any special characters in the variant causes it to glitch out. Also reaching the undisclosed max number of characters does the same thing, and you have to save and re-open to fix it.
- Clicking around causes everything you have input to reset. I.e., click the name of the first variant title and all your unlimited sliders/stock numbers and your variant pics to reset.
- Need to have a slider to make all variants unlimited, or make them unlimited by default. Currently it is time consuming to click each one, especially as your table grows with large numbers of variants.
- Would like to increase the maximum number of variants beyond three. However, the chart that it creates is a beast and won't save if it gets too big. If there is a way to make a "simple variant mode" that allows you to have a crazy number of variants with just the dropdown boxes--and not create any table below--that would be great. The ability to have different prices, inventory levels, and variant pics is great but the ability to disable that in lieu of just having a lot of options to choose from would be useful.
- A light bulb or question mark in the variants screen showing how to make the variants would also be helpful.

--Still cannot sort but now you can use the arrow keys to get between option choices and insert a new one. Major improvement.- Using any special characters in the variant causes it to glitch out. --This appears to be fixed. You can even change the Option Name now and it keeps all your data intact!No changes:

As of our latest release, you are now able to sort your variants in any order that you wish.
