Arcadier has made the changes to the page title, so that it reflects a more generic 'Marketplace Payment'. This does not apply to the application redirect, however.

At this time, the only way to truly make that page white-labeled is to integrate with Paypal's solution directly, and not use Arcadier's pre-integrated solution. This is because Paypal requires the business name to be reflected on the application redirect, which Paypal has mandated must reflect 'Arcadier' unfortunately.

Yes -- I've raised this myself on the previous support system. Really important I think -- confusion can mean cancelled sales.

Agree, I have had many customers contacting me to ask why I am in Singapore and under a different name. All Arcadier branding should be removed from paid membership accounts. I also think the issue with this could give potential customers the opportunity to explore Arcadier and create their own medium which defeats the purpose.

Right now, the process to become a Paypal merchant takes some time and you will need to fulfil a couple of requirements, and Arcadier has eased that by becoming becoming the master merchant to Paypal. You can resolve this by integrating with Paypal using the generic payment partners feature on the site.

Hi, this answer is generic please add where to find it on the site (paypal or ?), what are the consequences of using it like this, is there a guideline to do this etc. thx

I found an interesting link about this from arcadier, this will give you more info

You can also refer to this article here for more information on using another payment gateway on Arcadier. However, we suggest that you seek assistance from a tech developer with relevant payment integration knowledge as this process can be very confusing.

But your article is about using another payment gateway. Our question relates to the ability to use your own PayPal or Stripe credentials. That's what we're all interested in. Thanks.

Michael is correct that the ability to integrate them is through the generic payment processor fields. However, using paypal checkout would require a knowledge of Paypal's APIs system to integrate. We do understand that a walk-through of paypal integration steps would be very helpful, but do note that integrating Paypal's express checkout would require some hosting of the integrations on another platform, and that part should be attempted by a developer if possible.

    Hi,

I find this issue as a major one, and it requires immediate treatment (the generic payment is not the solution because I want to use your Paypal gateway as you offer), as the idea of using Arcadier is the easy way to create a marketplace.

Due to the fact that I am trying to bulit my brand, I can not allowed it that other brands name will appear in any part of my site, esspicially in the payment proccess. (note that it also an issue when you trying to registar to the site with Facebook and Google)

I will appriciate your understanding in this matter and appriciate you to solve this issue ASAP

Please update me as soon as possible,
    Thank you

I conducted a brief survey on this subject, and found that most of the buyers would abandon the sale process once they do not see the name of the company they are buying from. Or at least they were worried about it.

I really think that this is a critical issue and may harm potential orders, I think you should check again with PayPal what is the immediate solution for this issue, (as intagrate with them by myself takes time).

I agree that this is a major issue.  Arcadier's branding should not be present anywhere, especially during the payment process.  Can someone from Arcadier please let the community know if this will be addressed and what the time frame is?  This is a potential deal breaker for a marketplace platform.

The same applies for the linking of the Paypal accounts by sellers, they also see ARCADIER LTD! I just got another phone call that they don't trust this and they find it very confusing...

I used to work in online payments and a LOT of sales did not go through because customers were put off by strange company descriptor names that did not match the website. It's a big problem for Marketplace owners if their name won't show up on the PayPal receipt. As a 'master merchant' perhaps you/Arcadier can approach PayPal and discuss this matter with them. Maybe they can provide a solution.

I should point out that this can lead to chargebacks too!

strongly agree that this is a big problem

Thank you for the feedback and for clearly articulating this pain point! We're definitely in agreement on the need for a marketplace-branded solution. However, PayPal does not allow the covering of Arcadier's branding when using Arcadier's pre-integrated solution, and this is not something Arcadier is able to change because the page actually sits with Paypal.

At this point, however, we have left Arcadier's PayPal pre-integration is an option for you to use if you'd like to set up faster.

We know Arcadier's branding presents an issue and hence, we DO NOT RECOMMEND that you use the pre-integrated solution if you're concerned about branding issues.

Instead, do integrate PayPal yourself using the custom-payment method.

Hmmm, unfortunate but if you tell us we can still do it ourselves ok.

Will we still be able to use Paypal connected path like we use it now? Meaning that our sellers are linked to our paypal, transfer of money between him and buyer directly and only commission transfer to us as admin.

How do we do this and what are the disadvantages/risks?

Can you recommend developers that have experience with this and what it would cost us?

    Thanks,

If you cannot 'cover' Arcadier's name, perhaps you can make it smaller and give admins an option to put their own brand identifier where buyers will be able to clearly see it upon on checkout.

I'm really in trouble with that,

Users will not confirm to let "Arcadier Singapore" access to their PayPal details. (sellers are asked to confirm that once they connect they PayPal account, so it is not only they see it, they actually need to approve access to a foreign company).

The repeated solution proposed by Arcadier- to intagreate with PayPal myself, also have significand barriers:

    1. If I will do it, the payments between admin and seller will not be split anymore, so I will have a lot of work to send payments to sellers for every transaction.

    2. If buyer will ask for refund, I will have as the admin to take the refund on myself and then ask the refund from the seller- it is so complicated and a lot of an unnecessary preoccupation, I also will be in trouble if is a big amount and the seller will refuse to pay.

    3. I will not have the support of Arcadier with it

    4. I have to seek for developer to do it, and I am not sure at all what is the process

There for, this solution is so compilcated, and the disadvantages are too big.

The solution should come from PayPal, and you have to look for their help of how deleting/replacing Arcadier branding.

You put a big barrier to a seller when he is just trying to explore my marketplace, it has no sense, please understand and give us a real solution.

I really wait for a immadiate solution as my first users ask me about it and they didn't approve it.

    Thank you

Do note that we definitely understand why we would all love to be able to customise PayPal checkout page's merchant ID, that is not something that is possible, safe nor recommended. Merchants have to be correctly represented in the PayPal checkout pages.

To understand why the Application ID is Arcadier's in the adaptive payments page, do see below:

Splitting payments using PayPal requires a special product called PayPal Adaptive payments. It is a product that is limited to selected partner applications, including Arcadier. See PayPal adaptive payments here.

This means that using Arcadier's merchant ID (in our pre-integrated PayPal solution) gives admins on Arcadier the ability to split PayPal payments automatically. The Checkout flow takes the user to PayPal, and PayPal must reflect Arcadier's application ID while doing that.

Afraid of the 'Arcadier' term throwing your users off?

Arcadier allows you to integrate PayPal as a custom payment method. This means that your merchant ID will be used during the checkout flow. Do note that you should have someone familiar with payment gateway integration to help you out with this.

Arcadier has a few custom coder partners you can hire who would be able to help with that. For our official custom coders, please follow the link below.

    https://www.arcadier.com/coder_contact.html

To use PayPal's split payments as a custom method, you would likely have to contact PayPal directly to ask for guidance on Adaptive Payments as per the PayPal guide below:

    https://developer.paypal.com/docs/classic/adaptive-payments/integration-guide/APIntro/

I have just gone over the document that you shared in the link that talks about PayPal adaptive payments. Their rules actually specify that the receiver of the money needs to be named upon transaction - in this case the receiver is the admin/owner of the marketplace, not Arcadier. Arcadier's master account is a facilitator, but we get the final payment:

"The Remittance Transfer Rule specifies pre-payment disclosure to senders; that is, before payment is authorized. Disclosure includes the recipient's name, the amount transferred in the funded and received currencies, all fees and taxes charged, the exchange rate, the total amount charged to the sender (including the fees and taxes), and the final amount received by the recipient. You use the GetPrePaymentDisclosure API to disclose this required information."

If someone buys something on Ebay or Airbnb marketplaces, the sellers name usually appears at checkout. Please can you double check this matter with PayPal and see if something can be done.

    Many thanks

Hi Stephanie, the receiver is Arcadier in the pre-integrated Adaptive Payment solution, the payment is then passed on through a PayPal *Parallel Payments from Arcadier’s account.

However, as I have already mentioned, your ID can be reflected if you use your merchant ID, and not Arcadier’s, for an integration. We ‘d like to assure you that have spoken to PayPal before, and we've tried to build a solution like Stripe's for you (so your ID is used). However, unlike Stripe, PayPal's marketplace product is selectively implemented by PayPal through adaptive payments.

Just like airbnb, or eBay, or any other marketplace, you would would have to get PayPal’s approval to be the receiver on PayPal, and if you'd like to use automatically split payments, adaptive payments would have to be used. This would require a vetting process that PayPal would require your participation for. Arcadier cannot guarantee a successful approval, of course.

Arcadier does not stand in the way of this process, and we allow it via the custom payment method tool.

Since we understand that the above is a tedious process, we’ve engineered Arcadier’s very own adaptive payments access as an offering to starting marketplace owners to use as a PayPal option. It does come with Arcadier's merchant ID, because we are the merchant PayPal is dealing with in our integration.

*Correction from earlier: Arcadiers PayPal integration uses parallel payments, and not chained payments

Hi, I appreciate your detailed replies, but still trying to get my head around this.

I understand now that you are making chained payments via adaptive payments. In the adaptive payments page it says that the recipient must display his name/identifier. So are you saying that in PayPal's case, Arcadier is the official recipient of all monies (Admin - Seller - Buyer)?? If so, does it also mean that Arcadier can withhold those funds?

Even if that is the case, would you be able to include an additional field for Marketplace Name entry. So at the very least it would read something like "Etsy LTD subsidiary of Arcadier PTE-LTD"? That way, at least when folks receive their statement they will know who they paid and be less likely to contest the payment.

(FYI - Custom payments are not an option for me at this early stage, and probably the same for many others too)

    Thanks again
