besides the

 "latest items" on homepage, I think that there is a lot of benefit in adding for axaple: "editor selection items" "best revewis items", "hottest items" and etc.

This can give to sellers more motivation- to be featured on home page.

  I agree the 'latest items page' should be a page we can manipulate, if we have had no recent activity of new uploads it doesn't look good for returning customers to see the same items in the same position. We should be able to use this page as a marketing tool.
