Search Bar Reset Filter

Is there a way you can make the search bar not reset the existing filter? For example, I set city as a custom field, to be able to customers to filter out cities listings only, which also in this case allow me to create direct links to different cities.

 

But entering a search for example "Alphard" will reset all the filters to non and show up all the listings from all cities instead of retaining the filter example "Singapore" and only show Alphards in "Singapore" to be visible.

  If not searching for the right listings become at least a 2 step approach, by searching for the term first and then filter different categories.
  
  If a customer filtered different parameters and search specific terms, it will reset and remove all applied filters cause a headache for customers.

  I think I have a similar issue. How can you let users search by location and/or product type in the search bar?
