The ability to give sellers an EITHER/OR option when it comes to choosing their payment methods during the onboarding process
At the moment, it is compulsory to have a mandatory payment method when configuring payments for the marketplace. For example, if I have integrated Stripe and Paypal I would have to make one of the payment methods mandatory which could cause friction for sellers onboarding if they have one of the payment methods but not the other.
I would like the ability to instead give my users an opportunity to choose between either one instead of having to select one that I might deem mandatory.

The current functionality makes no sense. I dont even know how a host would receive money if both Stripe and Paypal were mandatory and they provided both accounts to receive money.
Payment method of course has to be Mandatory before completing account set up, but SELLER should have option of Stripe or Paypal, NOT both.

Hi Aaron,
John here! With regards to your question on how the host would receive money if both Stripe and Paypal were mandatory and provided both accounts to receive money, the buyer has an option to choose the payment method that he would prefer upon checkout and based on this choice, the money would then go into the respective accounts to both the admin of the marketplace as well as the merchant!
We have taken your feedback into account regarding a change that you feel can be improved with regards to the Seller having the option of either using Stripe or Paypal rather than having to choose one as mandatory.

Hi John,
The problem I encountered is if Stripe and Paypal are Mandatory in Admin console, then the Host has to setup both Stripe and PayPal before they can complete the Host registration. This makes no sense.
The host should be required to link to one merchant only, NOT both.
thanks,

Hi Aaron,
You can set up multiple payment methods, but only 1 payment method would need to be mandatory. In effect, merchants would have to link their accounts to the mandatory method but they have the option of using the other methods that you provide. It is not necessary for them to use all the payment methods in addition to the ones that you indicate as mandatory. Hope this helps!

How exactly do sellers have the option of using other methods?
If a seller has plugged in a mandatory payment method, it is the buyer who selects the payment method on purchase. From what I can see, the buyer is free to choose any payment method that the seller has linked - so the seller has no control over preventing buyers from selecting the mandatory payment method, even if they offer other payment methods.
At the moment, our marketplace has Paypal as mandatory. Not all my sellers want to transact through Paypal because of their high charges, however I can't make Stripe the mandatory payment method as we have some sellers in countries where Stripe does not operate. The result is that sellers who prefer Stripe, may end up with transactions through Paypal, because I have made this a mandatory payment method. Which seems unnecessary.
