Unlock ability for sellers to initiate a message to a buyer in the Retail template
I understand there is a message button that shows in space rental templates for the seller to contact the buyer of a completed order. I would like to request this feature to be unlocked for the retail template as well.

Nope. This originally came up in my long line of emails back and forth between me and support. I was told this would be a feature request, so I'd have to post it here and hope there would be enough upvotes for them to consider it.

100% agreed, this is so vital! A functioning marketplace for retail cannot happen without this. This has to be done ASAP.
Assume seeing as there is no comment from Arcadier no action has been taken here?

Looks like the same thing is happening again. I don't understand why one template is able to access it when retail can't, the ability to unlock this feature is so simple.
How have you gone about getting round the problem? I can't see any simple or appropriate solution that isn't extremely time extensive on the owners of the marketplace.

I haven't. But beware, there are a whole host of other serious issues that only manifest themselves once you launch. So yeah, this is a big issue... but people have to be able to even place an order before this becomes an issue. Ref: "Unable to update address. Please contact system admin" error, incorrect calculation of shipping costs during checkout causing prohibitively high shipping charges, and about 3/4 of the time trying to complete the payment with PayPal just goes back to the home screen without placing an order or anything.
Combine that with a useless, gitchy seller dashboard and orders screen, and the platform right now is totally broken.

so, is there a way to custom code the functionality to communicate with buyers upon their purchase?

Hi Lizz, no there isn't unfortunately a developer only has access to certain parts of the website. They can only do so much but this isn't something they can do. Arcadier would need to unlock this functionality.
