Filters should display based on the Category / sub-category selected for the search

The filter feature does not really work efficiently:

=> When a user runs a search based on a specific category and/or sub-category, the filters that appear on the screen are not exclusive of that specific category / sub-category.

This creates a lot of confusion for the user. And it ruins the point of using filters...

Example applicable to Service and Rental marketplaces:

Let's say we have a marketplace that sells tutoring and there are 2 categories in the marketplace: 

(i) Maths lessons and 

(ii) Biology lessons.

And let's say there are 3 filters in total:

a) Filter A only applies to category (i): "topic of the lesson" (trigonometry; geometry) ;

b) Filter B only applies to category (ii): "tutor specialization" (physiology; neurobiology), and

c) Filter C applies to both categories (i) and (ii): "lesson level" (beginner; intermediate; advanced)

 

—> If a user runs a search for category (i) Maths Lesson, the filters should only display filters A and C.

—> Same, if the user runs the search for category (ii) Biology Lesson , then the filter feature should only display filters B and C

--> If no specific search is run, then the filters may show all A, B and C. 

 

=> If a user runs a specific search for a specific Category / sub-category, then the filter feature should ONLY display the filters related to that specific category / sub-category.

  I'm really shocked this is not implemented and no one even commented from Arcadier. To me this is not even a feature, but expected trivial behavior of any commerce site.

  I actually can’t believe that the search by categories feature has been unattended to for as long as it has per this request made 10 months ago. When I went to launch my marketplace (after commiting to the 1 yr payment plan and putting all this money into customizing my marketplace) I was like why the heck are these search results appearing in categories they are not even assigned to?!? I was told the issue would be resolved in a December update but that did not happen

  Yes, it has been a while and nothing has changed.
  The filter feature does not work properly.
  This definitely provides a very very poor user experience while trying to browse listings.

  User experience plays a Very significant part into converting a visitor into an actual buyer.
  Poor user experience is a limitation that makes selling on the platform a lot harder for us.

  Focus for future developments of the platform should really be on user experience >> for buyers.

  There is such a huge gap between our marketplaces user experience versus other technologies such as WordPress, Shopify...
  The Arcadier marketplace templates need to evolve a lot to catch up. We all need this to make sales less hard. Please Arcadier, please take this into account. This should be the highest priority for future developments. And it should come urgently for us to survive.
